Ingredients

  • 3 large Russet potatoes (Notes: You can peel them or leave the skin on.)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (Notes: Use a good quality olive oil.)
  • Sea salt (Notes: To taste.)
  • Black pepper (Notes: To taste.)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder (Notes: Optional seasoning.)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder (Notes: Optional seasoning.)
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (Notes: Grated, optional for flavor.)

Instructions

  1. 1
Wash and dry the potatoes, then slice them into 1/4-inch matchsticks.
  2. 2
Soak the cut potatoes in a large bowl of cool water for at least 30 minutes.
  3. 3
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  4. 4
Once the potatoes have finished soaking, pat them dry with paper towels.
  5. 5
Place the potatoes in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Toss to coat evenly.
  6. 6
Working in batches, arrange the fries in an even layer in the preheated air fryer and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
  7. 7
Repeat with the remaining fries until they have all been cooked. Serve immediately.

Tips & Variations:

  • Soak the cut potatoes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
  • Pat the potatoes dry to remove excess moisture.
  • Work in batches to ensure every fry is crisp.
  • Recrisp all of the fries together for 1-2 minutes in the air fryer at the end.
