Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour (Notes: spooned & leveled)
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (Notes: kosher salt)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (Notes: cold & cut into ¼-inch cubes)
  • 0.75 cup buttermilk (Notes: cold)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. 1
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. 2
Using a pastry cutter, mix in the butter until combined and butter is about the size of small peas.
  3. 3
Stir in the buttermilk until a thick dough forms.
  4. 4
Transfer the dough to a clean counter and knead 6 to 7 times until the flour is all incorporated. Don’t overwork the dough.
  5. 5
Form the dough into a circle that is 1 1/2 inches thick, and cut the biscuits using a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
  6. 6
Coat the basket of your air fryer with nonstick spray. Place biscuits 2 inches apart on the basket.
  7. 7
Cook at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  8. 8
Melt the remaining butter and brush it on the hot biscuits.

Tips & Variations:

  • Keep the biscuit dough cold.
  • Don’t throw away your extra dough; pat it back out to make more biscuits.
  • Do not twist the biscuit cutter when making biscuits.
  • You may need to make these in batches as you do not want to overcrowd the air fryer.
  • Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter after cooking.
