Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Tongs
  • Pastry brush
  • Instant-read thermometer

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets 6 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • lemon wedges for serving
  • tartar sauce for serving

Instructions

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels so the oil and seasoning cling well.
  • Brush the salmon with olive oil on the top and sides.
  • Mix garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, then sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the fillets.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 2-3 minutes.
  • Arrange the salmon in a single layer with space between each fillet.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 8-9 minutes, checking the thickest part for 145°F.
  • Rest for 2 minutes, then serve with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.

Notes

Storage: Store cooled salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, with lemon and tartar sauce kept separate.
Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes, just until warmed through, so the fish does not dry out.
Air Fryer Tips: Preheat briefly, leave space around the fillets, and start checking at 8 minutes because salmon thickness and air fryer models vary.
Extra Crispy Tips: Pat the salmon dry, use only a light oil coating, and add extra cook time in 1-minute increments if you want firmer edges.
Variations: Try smoked paprika, lemon pepper, dill, Cajun seasoning, garlic butter, or a thin honey mustard glaze.
